There are a few important facts you should know about Ohio birth records. The hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It usually takes 30 minutes to receive the record. If you arrive after 4:30 you may not receive the records that day and will have to schedule at another time to pick it up or have it mailed to you in a week.
If it is easier for you to have Ohio birth records mailed to you. The address is Ohio Department of Health, 246 N. High Street, P.O. Box 15098, Columbus, Ohio 43215-0098. It will take at least two weeks to receive the certificate through the mail. It any legal changes are made to the certificate because of adoption, or establishing paternity, etc. it will take one to six months for it to be delivered.
